In 1921 Coco created herself the first ‘stick’ of blood-red lip colour. Lipstick was so essential for Coco, that she even designed a special pocket in her quilted handbag to ensure her lipstick was always to hand.

In 2011, CHANEL offers its modern interpretation of this historic lipstick by launching Rouge Coco Shine. Inspired by the extraordinary life of Gabrielle Chanel, Rouge Coco Shine takes creative license from her youthful spirit.
